Draw a pony "catching rays"

Celestia having a bit of fun with her newest and most promising student.

I missed the last two days of ATG. Wasn't particularly inspired, and was busy to boot. This one was a lot of fun to draw, though. I put more effort into it than the last few, and I think it shows. I haven't drawn Celestia before, and I think she turned out pretty well. I'm particularly proud of the hair. I went a little crazy with her shadow, though.

Twilight didn't turn out right at all. That's partially because I had her pencil shaded, then came back and decided to use this sketch rather than make another (because it wasn't coming out right). That, and I'm just bad at art.

The picture in the background is a doodle that Twilight made of her parents and her visiting some farm or something. At least, that's my excuse as to why is looks so rough! I think I did pretty well for such a small item though.
